The Telford hotel was named Best Wedding Venue for a Historic Building in West Midlands

Hadley Park House Hotel

Hadley Park House Hotel employees celebrated their victory at the Wedding Industry Awards (TWIA).

The venue has been named the best wedding venue for a historic building and will now reach the virtual national final in January.

Every year TWIA recognizes excellent wedding providers and venues in 25 categories across the UK.

The awards have become the gold standard for wedding organizers and mean couples can select suppliers based on recognized quality in the wedding industry.

The “Best Historic Building” category is new for 2020. The hotel previously won the regional preliminaries for the best wedding venue in the city in 2016, 2017 and 2018 and reached the regional finals in 2019.

Hotel owner Mark Lewis said he was delighted to end the year on such a high level.

He said, “This is the ultimate award and recognition of the care we take in managing one of the most important days for a couple as the awards are voted on by wedding clients and are subject to a rigorous process by independent judges.

“This year has been particularly difficult and winning this award means so much to the wonderful team that made this possible in our industry during very difficult times.

“Thank you to everyone who voted for us and to all of our partner suppliers who have also contributed to this success. Finally a positive result for this terrible year.”

Ordinarily the hotel would host hundreds of weddings serving thousands of guests, but most weddings this year have been postponed to 2021 and beyond, although the hotel has been able to host a small number of intimate Covid weddings and wedding anniversaries with hold timed slots.

The hotel, which includes a Grade II listed 18th-century Georgian mansion, renovated its two acres of gardens and created a sunken garden to host outdoor weddings in the summer during the first national lockdown.
