Parts of West Midlands will be locked in Tier 2 from December 2nd

Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Telford, and Wrekin and Shropshire will face Level 2 bans from December 2nd.

Birmingham and Black Country, Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent, Warwickshire, Coventry and Solihull face Tier 3.

In a ministerial written statement that included the breakdown of the levels, Health Secretary Matt Hancock said, “Thanks to everyone’s collective sacrifice over the past few weeks, we have been able to regain control of the virus, following national restrictions, and slowly slowing its growth, which is putting the pressure on.” slightly decreased the NHS.

“We will do this by going back to a regional tiered approach and saving the toughest measures for those parts of the country where the prevalence remains too high.

“The tiering approach provides a framework which, when firmly applied, should avoid the need for stricter national measures.

“On December 2nd we will lift national restrictions across England and the following restrictions will be relaxed:

“1. The requirement to stay home ends.

2. Non-essential retail stores, gyms and personal care products will reopen. The broader leisure and entertainment sectors will also reopen, albeit to varying degrees.

“3. Communal worship, weddings, and outdoor sports can resume.

This year’s BrumWish appeal, launched in November, resulted in more than 3,300 Christmas gifts being purchased for 1,800 homeless children in the city.

We have secured hundreds of gifts for babies and toddlers, but we are not our destination for children over the age of six.

It’s all via an Amazon wish list – which means you can in-person purchase a gift that will be delivered before December 25th.

“4. People will no longer be limited to seeing another person in the open air, where Rule 6 now applies.

“The new rules set the restrictions in place at each tier. We have taken into account SAGE’s recommendations on the impact of the previous tier to strengthen action in the tiers and allow areas to move to lower tiers more quickly.”
