A Place In The Sun couple lose 12 stones after seeing themselves on TV

A pair from A Place in the Sun lost a whopping 12 stones in a health overhaul after seeing each other on TV.

Lisa, 49, and Paul Sanderson, 46, traveled to Spain on the Channel 4 show to find a new home but were shocked to see each other on TV.

On the show, the Sandersons were interested in a £ 72,500 three bedroom bungalow in Torrevieja in the sunny areas of the Costa Blanca, Spain.

However, the episode, which aired in July 2019 and filmed the previous April, caused the couple to change.

Lisa had gained weight after chemotherapy after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015.

The nurse announced that after five chemotherapy sessions and a limo ride home, when she got the all-clear, she had decided not to worry about what she liked.

Paul was also shocked to see how much weight he had also gained. In the summer of 2019, he weighed up to 16 pounds 7 pounds.

After the shock of seeing themselves on TV, changing their diet and going to work, the two lost 12 stones together in a year.

Lisa fell on 10 stones and fell from size 22 to size 12.

Paul has now fallen to 12 stones and now fits M clothing compared to XL clothing from the year before.

Lisa told the SWNS: “Seeing yourself on TV is so different. We knew we had to do something.

“When I finished my chemotherapy, we were enjoying life so much that we didn’t think about it – I just ate all my favorite food and lived.”

The nurse announced that they are now truly feeling the health benefits from the changes they have made.

Mother of three Lisa had two successful surgeries, five chemotherapy sessions and 23 radiotherapy sessions over the course of six months to fight cancer.

The six-headed grandmother Lisa said, “When you feel better, you just want to enjoy yourself, but maybe I amused myself too much.”

The competitive couple said they got competitive with each other when they joined Weight Watchers in November 2019 to beat each other on weight loss every month.

The Sandersons are filming a place in the sun in Spain in April 2019.

Lisa reduced her caloric intake to 1,200 calories per day while Paul went from 5,000 to 1,500 per day.

Safety Officer Paul told SWNS: “It was really great to be able to do this with Lisa.”

The couple, who have been married for eight years, look forward to traveling to Spain if they can.

Paul remarked: “Now we are just waiting to fly to Spain and enjoy our new home and our new figure.”
