The 11-year-old school girl was sexually assaulted before the assailant escapes with a police hunt suspect

An 11-year-old school girl was sexually assaulted when police started an urgent search for the attacker.

She was targeted at around 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, March 30th in New Road, Tipton, West Midlands.

West Midlands police officers are desperately searching for the attacker after he fled the scene after the “traumatic” incident.

One man was arrested on suspicion of involvement in the attack, but has since been released without further action.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: “We are investigating after an 11-year-old girl was sexually assaulted on Tuesday March 30th at around 3:45 pm in New Road, Tipton.

“The attacker has escaped and we are continuing our investigation to identify him.

“A man was arrested on suspicion of involvement in the attack but upon further investigation he is not found responsible. He has since been released without further action.

“We understand how traumatic this was for the schoolgirl and offered her professional support.”
