A West Midlands adoption agency is looking for parents who want to adopt siblings.
Siblings often have to wait longer to be accommodated than just children because they want to stay together.
Adoption Central England (ACE), which supports a national recruitment campaign, believes parents may have reservations about adopting groups of siblings as it can be a major challenge.
However, the agency cited a survey in which 61 percent of adopters said that adopting siblings was “beneficial”.
Tina Russell, Interim Chief Executive of Worcestershire Children First, said, “ACE provides ongoing support to adoptive families as they adjust their lives to provide a child or children with lifelong homes.
“We are proud to support the national sibling adoption campaign and to take this opportunity to improve understanding of the relationship between siblings and the importance of sibling cohesion in the adoption process.
“Finding a loving and supportive home for vulnerable children is one of the most challenging tasks, but also one of the most rewarding ways to improve a child’s life. I encourage anyone interested in adoption to get in touch. “
All families who adopt through ACE receive lifetime support to ensure they have access to therapeutic services and training, and the opportunity to meet other families who are adopting for support.
ACE is interested in hearing from people looking to adopt sibling groups with three or more children.
