A young man was stabbed to death with a large combat knife tonight in Birmingham.
Police only found out there was a victim after officers spoke to a group of young men downtown and discovered that a knife they had in his possession had been used in an attack minutes earlier.
One of them told officers he had a knife and the police said they took a combat knife out of his pants.
They said they found that a young man had been stabbed to death with it just minutes before they arrived.
Police officers from a special team on youth and knife crime said a suspect had been arrested for “a range of crimes”.
They added that the victim was hospitalized and “protected from harm” along with another man.
