Car overturned after accident with two vehicles on Coventry main street

A car overturned on Tuesday afternoon (June 1) following a two-vehicle accident on Leamington Road in Coventry.

The incident, which was reported after 4 p.m., occurred between the dealership at the Stivichall roundabout and Thirsk Road.

A man was freed from his car by the fire department and taken to the hospital for medical treatment after the incident, the emergency services announced.

Inrix’s traffic management system announced that two cars were involved and reported that one of the cars was overturned in the incident.

The road was closed for some time in the presence of the West Midlands Police, West Midlands Fire Service and West Midlands Ambulance Service.

The fire department tweeted these images at 4:11 pm saying, “Crews from the Coventry & Canley fire departments along with police and ambulances were present in a car accident in Stivichall, Coventry.

A man was taken to the hospital

“1 man released by fire fighters and treated by ambulances was taken to hospital for treatment.

“Leamington Road on the A45 is currently closed.”

National Express buses have been diverted and the West Midlands Network tweeted, “There are no stops on Leamington Road between Baginton Road and A45.”

From 8 p.m. Inrix reports that traffic is passing the crime scene, although it is not clear whether the road has been fully opened again.
