Kind hearted students from North Bromsgrove High School donate £ 250 and food to the Basemsent Project

North Bromsgrove High School students celebrated the end of the summer semester by donating the proceeds of their latest fundraiser to the Basement Project.

As part of the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust’s On Track to Achieve program, a group of ninth and tenth graders organized a social action project and raised £ 250.

North teacher Katy Travers said, “We are so grateful for the support of our wonderful students and parents who help us contribute to important local charities like the Basement Project.”

Sixth graders also organized an in-house competition that included a blackboard collection, and several food packages were collected from each house.

Kelly Turner, The Basement Community Fundraiser, said, “After a year of lockdown, it was great to go back to school and meet these amazing young people who have done so much to support their peers in need.

“The grocery packages will be gratefully received by families struggling to make ends meet, and £ 250 will help a young person settle into a rental with white goods or a carpet.”
