Wordsley Spar robbed by masked men with ax, crowbar and machete

Masked men armed with ax, machete and crowbar stole money and a handbag from a Spar in Wordsley.

The three thieves entered the store on Lawnswood Road around 10:40 p.m. yesterday and asked for cash, West Midlands Police said.

The men, who carried a crowbar, ax and machete, fled with money from the safe, a till and a handbag.

No one was physically injured in the attack.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: “We are investigating an armed robbery at Spar on Lawnswood Road at around 10:40 pm yesterday, August 15th.

“Three masked men entered the shop and asked for cash.

“The men – believed to be carrying crowbars, ax and machete – escaped with money from the safe and a till. A handbag was also taken.

“Fortunately, no one was physically injured even though they were shaken.

“We are investigating CCTV and doing other investigations to identify those responsible.
