Travel diversion advice for motorists
National Highways West Midlands has issued the following information for motorists.
The M6 in the West Midlands is closed southbound between J6 and J5 due to a serious road traffic collision.
Central Motorway Police Group and emergency services are in attendance.
Diversion route
Road users are advised to follow the Hollow Triangle diversion symbol on road signs.
- At Salford Circus, take the exit to the A5127 southbound, Litchfield Road.
- Continue along the A5127 to its junction with the B4137, Cuckoo Road.
- Take the B4137 east and continue to its junction with the A47, Heartlands Parkway.
- Take the A47 eastbound, Heartlands Parkway/Fort Parkway.
- At the junction of the A47/A452, take the exit to A452 south, Chester Road to J5 of the M6.
