The Duke of Edinburgh has left King Edward VII’s private hospital in London, where he is recovering from heart surgery.
The 99-year-old spent four weeks in the hospital and was first taken to see King Edward after complaining of poor health last month.
He was then moved across the capital when doctors gave him a procedure for an existing heart disease.
The Duke has now left the hospital, it has been confirmed.
In the past few weeks, Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, posted a health update on his grandfather.
When asked how the Duke was doing, William winked and said that he believed his grandfather was “okay”.

She also “fondly” remembered her historic visit to Ireland a decade ago.

The Queen’s message read: “On the occasion of your national holiday, I wish to convey my congratulations to Your Excellency along with my best wishes to the people of Ireland.
“This year is ten years since my visit to Ireland, which I remember well, and it marks a significant centenary on these islands.
“We share family, friendly and loving ties – the basis of our partnership, which is as important to this day as it was ten years ago.
She signed in Irish: “La Fheile Padraig sona daoibh go leir.”
