A former nightclub area in north Birmingham is to be converted into a new mixed-use building valued at £ 25 million by the same team behind the Parkgate development in Solihull.
Bordeaux Estates hopes to enlist the city’s support to renovate Rosie’s old home in Sutton Coldfield to create 75 one and two bedroom apartments, 4,305 square feet of retail and leisure space and parking.
The concept, designed by SR Davis Architects from Edgbaston, will be called Central Place.
A draft proposal has been submitted to the Birmingham City Council and it is hoped that it will be approved later this year. Work is slated to begin immediately after the previous buildings were demolished last year.
The construction work should then be completed in 2023.

Bordeaux Estates was founded by Jonathan Cox and Steve Cole who previously worked under the Shirley Advance name on the Parkgate Shopping Center and housing development in Shirley, which opened in 2014.
Cox said, “We see the project as a real opportunity to bring new life and confidence to this neglected area in downtown Sutton Coldfield, and thus the catalyst for further development and investment.”
